PIKI
Piki is to Wiki as paintings are to books– one tells you what to think, the other invokes thought and creative learning. The Piki is founded on the concept of “a picture speaks a thousand words”. For centuries the most advanced ancient civilization, the Egyptians, used pictures to write their history and teachings instead of words. This unique form of communication enabled all of their people to be literate in a time where only the elite had this “right” in other lands. According to the concept of the "Picture Superiority Effect" developed by Allen Pavio (1971, 1986), ideas are much more likely to be remembered experientially if they are presented as pictures rather than words. We see the Piki as a grouping of well researched pictures that create a rich form of communication that will more easily be able to explain complex theories to a broader community.
However, so as not to discriminate against those whose love for words runs deep and true, we have created explanations of each model on a separate page. So please Click Here for a wordy description.
